D2.6 A sustainable EU network of fully trained & skilled substance validation experts able to maintain substance data in a European system

Next to the (technical) implementation of EU-SRS for use in Europe, the Substance Validation Group
(SVG) was implemented. The SVG consists of substance experts or assessors of national competent
authorities (NCA’s). During the EU-SRS implementation project, 12 multi-day team meetings (either
2 or 3 days) took place. Due to COVID, almost all team meetings had to be virtual. In 2022, two hybrid
meetings took place. In January 2023, the only fully face-to-face meeting took place. During this final
face-to-face meeting at EMA, we confirmed that the SVG members were ready to start maintaining
the substance data in EU-SRS.
The HMA endorsed the SVG as an official HMA SVG Working Group, enabling the team to use an
HMA SharePoint environment. The SVG now has an official HMA SVG internet page where they
publish documentation and information.
