Isotopic, Morphological, and Environmental Dataset for Eriosyce Cacti

This dataset assembles coordinated isotopic, morphological, geographic, and environmental information for Eriosyce cacti sampled along a 1200-km transect spanning the arid to hyperarid zones of the Atacama Desert. The database integrates individual-level root water isotope measurements (δ¹⁸O, δ²H, D-excess), root architectural traits, and georeferenced climate and topographic covariates. It is designed to support analyses of hydrological niche differentiation, root functional adaptations, and eco-evolutionary responses to extreme moisture limitation. The decimal components of the latitude coordinates were removed to protect the species from extraction and illegal trafficking.
