Four new species of spittlebugs from French Guiana of the genus Maxantonia Schmidt, 1922 and Catrimania Fennah, 1968 (Hemiptera: Cercopoidea: Ischnorhinidae)

Abstract. – Four new species of neotropical spittlebugs (Hemiptera: Cercopoidea: Ischnorhinidae) from French Guiana are described and illustrated. Three in the genera Maxantonia Schmidt, 1922: M. dachinensis sp. n., M. durantoni sp. n., M. lactinea sp. n.; and one in the genera Catrimania Fennah, 1968: C. arcada sp. n. The male of Monecphora longitudinalis Lallemand, 1924 is also described and illustrated for the first time. Maps show the known distribution of the new species and two closely related species present in the area studied: Catrimania albifascia Paladini & Cryan, 2012 and Maxantonia pallida Lallemand, 1924. Specimens have been collected mainly by light trap, during expeditions of SEAG (Société Entomologique Antilles-Guyane), or during personal prospecting, representing a total of 270 specimens. A portion of the specimens examined are from the private collection of Michel Duranton. Twenty specimens are barcoded (BOLD, MEMGU project, Marker COI-5P), including at least one specimen from each of the seven species studied in this paper. Results of the molecular analyses, along with a barcode ID tree, are presented. Holotypes and a portion of the paratypes of the new species are deposited at the MNHN (Paris, France). A list of Ischnorhinidae from French Guiana is also presented, recording 30 species.

Abstract. – Quatre nouvelles espèces de cercopes néotropicaux (Hemiptera : Cercopoidea : Ischnorhinidae) de Guyane française sont décrites et illustrées. Trois dans le genre Maxantonia Schmidt, 1922 : M. dachinensis sp. n., M. durantoni sp. n., M. lactinea sp. n. ; et une dans le genre Catrimania Fennah, 1968 : C. arcada sp. n. Le mâle de Monecphora longitudinalis Lallemand, 1924 est décrit et illustré pour la première fois. Des cartes montrent la distribution connue des nouvelles espèces et de deux espèces étroitement apparentées présentes dans la zone étudiée : Catrimania albifascia Paladini & Cryan, 2012 et Maxantonia pallida Lallemand, 1924. Les spécimens étudiés ont été collectés principalement à l'aide de pièges lumineux, lors d'expéditions de la SEAG (Société Entomologique Antilles-Guyane) ou lors de prospections personnelles, totalisant ainsi 270 spécimens. Une partie des spécimens examinés provient de la collection privée de Michel Duranton. Vingt spécimens ont été barcodés (BOLD, projet MEMGU, marqueur COI-5P), dont au moins un spécimen de chacune des sept espèces étudiées dans cet article. Les résultats des analyses moléculaires, ainsi qu'un arbre de classification, sont présentés. Les holotypes et une partie des paratypes des nouvelles espèces sont déposés au MNHN (Paris, France). Une liste des Ischnorhinidae de Guyane française est également présentée, répertoriant 30 espèces.
