Proud Elbow: A Psychodermatological Response Localized to the Posterior Ulna During Self-Referential Expressions of Achievement.

This paper introduces Proud Elbow, a newly identified psychodermatological and neurobehavioral phenomenon in which individuals subconsciously scratch the skin just anterior to the olecranon, on the posterior side of the elbow—specifically forward of the ulna—when discussing personal achievements or moments of self-pride. This subtle and consistent self-touch action appears to be emotionally correlated with internal states of self-worth, ego, and positive identity construction. This phenomenon is explored through observational data, comparative analysis, cognitive theory, and an anatomical understanding of the neurophysiological systems that support affective self-touch.
