Description
Avascular necrosis (AVN) is a progressive condition marked by the death of bone tissue due to impaired blood supply, commonly affecting the femoral head. In Ayurveda, this condition can be correlated with Asthi-Majjagata Vata, which involves vitiation of Vata dosha in bone and marrow tissues. While modern medicine often relies on pharmacological or surgical interventions, Ayurvedic therapies like Panchatikta Ksheer Basti offer a non-invasive, holistic approach aimed at tissue regeneration and dosha pacification. Panchatikta Ksheer Basti demonstrates promising therapeutic potential in the early stages of AVN, particularly Grade II. It offers a safe, effective, and non-surgical alternative to conventional therapies. However, further large-scale controlled studies are required to establish standardized treatment protocols and long-term efficacy.
