"Don't extract it, don't consume it". Decolonial Ecologies and Liquid Dramaturgies
Authors/Creators
Description
In light of the recent environmental devastation of bodies of water caused by the slow violence of extraction, recent (queer-)feminist, ecological and decolonial artistic perspectives such as Chilean-Mexican choreographer Amanda Piña frame water as a scarce, privatised and stolen resource and envision liquid understandings of an embodied being-in-the-world through what this paper calls liquid dramaturgies – a performative mode of engaging with the entangled relations between water, bodies, gender, extraction and contamination.
