KoR: The Foundational Framework - Symbolic Cognition, Structural Memory, and Coherent Systems (Canonical Release v1.0)
Authors/Creators
Description
This document establishes the canonical governance, ethical boundaries, and structural foundations of KoR (Kernel of Resilience), a research framework dedicated to symbolic cognition, structural memory, and coherent system design.
KoR provides a non-narrative, human-centered architecture for studying how symbolic systems maintain coherence, resist drift, and remain interpretable under cognitive load. It defines clear boundaries preventing metaphysical interpretation, charismatic authority, psychological projection, or narrative takeover. KoR is not a belief system, not a cosmology, and not a symbolic practice. It is a scientific and structural discipline.
This release includes:
• Governance v0.1
A structural authority model defining roles, scope, modification pathways, and interpretation boundaries.
• Ethical and Human Rights Layer
Aligned with UDHR, ICCPR, GDPR/FADP, UNESCO AI Ethics, and international standards.
Ensures cognitive autonomy, mental integrity, algorithmic non-violence, and meaning sovereignty.
• Licensing & Provenance Protection
CC BY-NC 4.0 supplemented by TraceLock™, a semantic-invariance and lineage mechanism preventing unauthorized forks, reinterpretation, or symbolic appropriation.
• Trace-Reputation Framework (TRF)
A structural method for collaboration integrity, drift detection, non-punitive accountability, and research transparency.
• Security Considerations
A lightweight, non-militarized safety layer addressing drift, symbolic injection, and continuity under pressure.
• Statutory Foundation (Swiss Association)
Legal structure ensuring independence, transparent governance, rights protection, and ethical continuity.
• Annexes
– Canonical Glossary (non-narrative definitions)
– Foundational Concepts Brief (core structural principles)
– Continuity & Security Mechanisms (kill-switch, notarization, succession)
KoR supports interdisciplinary research across symbolic systems, cognitive science, reversible memory architectures, hybrid human–machine cognition, and alignment. Research participation does not grant interpretative authority and must follow governance boundaries.
This canonical release defines the stable baseline for future components, including Symbolic Diffusion IV (SD/4) and KoR/8.
