Description
The ECHOES Deliverable D5.3: Strategy and Roadmap for Capacity Building, Training, and Knowledge Transfer outlines a comprehensive, inclusive, and sustainable framework for developing and delivering capacity-building resources within the European Cloud for Heritage Open Science (ECHOES) project. This deliverable is a living document, designed to evolve alongside the project’s iterative assessment of community needs, resource development, and ecosystem integration.
The strategy aligns with the guiding principles established in D5.11, published in November 2024, emphasizing accessibility, inclusivity, sustainability, and interdisciplinarity. It identifies target communities—including cultural heritage professionals, researchers, educators, and citizens—and maps their training needs to modular, reusable, and adaptable learning resources. The document also details the typologies and formats of capacity-building resources, such as foundational and operational training, and outlines delivery methods and channels, including structured learning experiences, hands-on labs, and role-based content.
A strategic roadmap is provided, linking the curriculum’s phased development to the project’s milestones, such as the release of Vertical Applications (VAs) and the implementation of cascading grants. The roadmap ensures alignment with other Work Packages (WPs) and the broader European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) ecosystem, fostering synergies and long-term sustainability.
The deliverable concludes with immediate follow-up actions, including the finalization of introductory training modules and pilot sessions, and sets the stage for the next deliverable, D5.4, scheduled for November 2026, which will formalize the curriculum architecture and evaluation framework. By adopting a community-driven, modular, and FAIR-by-Design approach, ECHOES aims to empower diverse stakeholders to engage meaningfully with the ECCCH, ensuring the project’s impact extends beyond its lifespan.
