Legal Status of the Prosecutor of Ukraine in the Conditions of International Criminal Cooperation: Challenges and Prospects

The study implemented a scientific search for key aspects of the dynamics of the legal status of the prosecutor of Ukraine in the context of modern transformations of international criminal cooperation. The key areas of international criminal cooperation were considered, in particular, the provision of legal assistance in conducting procedural actions on the territory of one state at the request of another, extradition or temporary transfer of a person who committed a criminal offense; execution of court sentences. It was found that the prosecutor of Ukraine is positioned, first of all, as the key procedural leader of the pre-trial investigation, the coordinator of interaction with the bodies of other states within the framework of international agreements on criminal procedural law and the guarantor of compliance with the norms of national sectoral legislation. Such status is considered in the context of integrity, unification and a single approach for all prosecutors, regardless of rank in the Ukrainian prosecutor's office system.
