Description

This keynote presentation was given at the VIII Workshop on Data Science   (VIII WDS) - FAIR Data Practices for Atmospheric and Amazon Research
November, 26th and 27th
Escola Politécnica da USP - wds.poli.usp.br/wds8

The VIII Workshop on Data Science at the Polytechnic School of USP (wds.poli.usp.br/wds8) was held on November 26th and 27th, 2025, at the Polytechnic School of USP. Its main goal is to spread techniques and foster collaboration with the Brazilian and international research communities engaged in data management, analysis, and visualization. The 8th Data Science Workshop (WDS) aims to promote FAIR best practices in managing observational and modeling data related to atmospheric phenomena in the Amazon region. This edition highlights the AmazonFACE Program, which examines the effects of increased CO₂ on tropical forests, by integrating its data into an open, interoperable, and reproducible model that enhances open and collaborative science.

The Workshop is sponsored and supported by the Polytechnic School of USP (EPUSP), the Department of Computer Engineering and Digital Systems (PCS), and FAPESP - Regular Research Grant (2023/09046-5).

Organizers: EPUSP, UNICAMP, INPA, and INPE (Brazil).
