  • 2025-10-29 aciarma (PR#530) Added field map from Mike Koratzinos for the magnetic field of IR antisolenoids. The fieldmap accounts only for the antisolenoids, so it must be overlapped with the detector field. For the moment I used an example description for the 2T detector solenoid field (fields_solenoid.xml) but this part may be different for each experiment and therefore in each dedicated xml, not in /MDI. The antisolenoids are common instead.

    • FCCee/MDI: Moved the stl_files folder up one level: from FCCee/MDI/compact/MDI_o1_v01/stl_files to FCCee/MDI/compact/stl_files Provide a common space for CAD versions sharing the same files.
  • 2025-10-17 aciarma (PR#527) CAD version of MDI had the crotch rotated 180deg, so that the notch for the SR mask was on the wrong side. The SR mask is only on the lower part of the upstream beampipes - negative x coordinates.

    Created new folder MDI_o1_CADBased_v01 with the following fixes:

    • fixed orientation of crotch beam pipe
    • added MDI_standalone_v01.xml files to ease debug of MDI geometries

    New naming convention decided:

    • MDI_o1_ShapeBased_vXX for shape based geometries
    • MDI_o1_CADBased_vXX for CAD based geometries
  • 2025-10-14 mahmoudali2 (PR#526) This PR introduces improvements to the muon system of the IDEA detector:

    1. Automated Endcap Rmax Calculation:
    • The maximum radius (Rmax) of the endcap is now calculated automatically based on barrel detector geometry, which its last layer encloses the endcap within it. Resulting in reducing the need for parameters manual adjustments.
    • It also simplifies changes to the number of layers, as Rmax no longer needs to be adapted manually for each design.
    1. Fixed Negative Endcap Layering Order:
    • Corrected the ordering of layers in the negative endcap to ensure proper reconstruction and simulation consistency.
    • This fix addresses issues where layer sequences in negative endcap were previously inverted, improving track propagation and hit association.
  • 2025-10-13 Juan Miguel Carceller (PR#525)

    • Do not run tests that require the beampipe files when not downloading them, since they will fail
  • 2025-10-13 Andrea Sciandra (PR#523)

    • FCC-ee ALLEGRO detector concept: include plugins attaching additional info to the geometry, needed to generate edm4hep::TrackerHitPlane.
  • 2025-10-06 Alvaro Tolosa Delgado (PR#522)

    • Refactor of the ARC DDSim configuration example, used in CI. The main change is that hit cellID assignment now works correctly, thanks to consistent handling between the optical physics configuration (SD not triggered at boundaries) and the DD4hep SD action for the optical tracker.
