Description
This document aims to describe the approach for each of the algorithms developed and implemented within the BiCOME project. Most of these algorithms have a ‘baseline’ approach which has already been published and an ’experimental’ approach which has been developed within BiCOME. Where methods are already published we summarise the key equations and approaches here, trying to convey the fundamentals of the approach, and readers are invited to read the relevant publications for full details, such as validation and product discussion.
In addition to separating algorithms based on ‘baseline’ or ‘experimental’ terms we also separate them based on which subregion of the coastal waters they are designed for (and the case studies they are applicable to). This division classifies algorithms as ‘intertidal’, ‘subtidal’ and 'pelagic’.
