Project Skills4EOSC: Key Outcomes and the Legacy of Competence Centres Supporting Open Science Training and EOSC Ecosystem
Authors/Creators
Description
In this talk, we will present the Skills4EOSC project — a major Horizon Europe project building a pan-European training ecosystem for Open and FAIR Science. The project has established a network of Competence Centres (CCs) across Europe to provide high-quality training, lifelong learning, and professional support for researchers, data stewards, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
We highlight the project’s main outcomes, including:
-
the definition of Minimum Viable Skillsets (MVS) for key Open Science roles
-
the development of a FAIR-by-Design methodology for reusable educational materials
-
a quality assurance and certification framework for trainers and learners
-
the launch of a learning platform and harmonized curricula and learning paths
-
the creation of a sustainable network for open science competence via the CC network
Finally, the presentation reflects on the long-term legacy of the project: how the Competence Centres can continue to shape the EOSC landscape, and how their shared frameworks, resources, and professional networks can support the Czech Community to a more resilient, skilled European workforce ready for open, data-intensive research.
