Data driven innovations in healthcare: challenges and possibilities of cross-regional and cross-domain linked data

At the department Primary and Long-term Care (UMCG) researchers and data experts from the sections Academic General Practice Living Lab (Academisch Huisarts Ontwikkel Netwerk (AHON)) and FemHealthData are collaborating intensively on several linked harmonized electronic health records (EHR) data projects. Linking, harmonizing and analyzing these structured (e.g. GP diagnoses codes) and unstructured data (e.g. GP doctors notes)  with conventional and innovative techniques (such as NLP and machine learning) uncover patterns that have long remained invisible. During our workshop we will share our lessons learned and share the data driven innovations that we have applied.
