The 'foreign other' in the Akkadian lexicon: the data on "fremd – foreign, strange, alien" in AHw, CAD, and CDA

The dataset presents the structured and annotated quotes from the major Akkadian dictionaries Akkadisches Handwörterbuch (AHw), the Chicago Assyrian Dictionary (CAD), and the Concise Dictionary of Akkadian (CDA) resulting from a basic search plus one feedback loop for the terms “fremd – foreign, strange, alien”.
Notes
The data were collected by the author in 2021–2023 and 2025 in preparation of a methodological paper comparing the potential of the major digitized print dictionaries against several recently developed digital tools, especially Oracc in Korp and Lexical Portal of Akkadian, prepared by members of the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires, University of Helsinki.
