The issue of financial education in microfinance : the case of Sanduk in the Comoros

Authors/Creators

Description

Although the Sanduk network in the Comoros is an acceptable tool for combating financial insecurity, it is not without its limitations. This article examines the problem of financial education for poor clients of this institution. The study reveals that the majority of users have no knowledge of finance. As a result, they make sub-optimal credit decisions, exacerbating their economic vulnerability. For better financial inclusion, financial education must be at the heart of the financial system to reduce economic inequalities.
