XChronos Temporal Framework for AGI v1.0
Authors/Creators
Description
Modern AI systems lack a genuine temporal substrate. Although large language models operate on token sequences, they do not maintain meaningful events, recurrence structures, episodic continuity, or internal state evolution. This absence prevents long-term learning, identity formation, narrative coherence, and other minimal requirements for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
This document introduces the XChronos Temporal Framework for AGI, a formal temporal ontology composed of four symbolic primitives — Crônons, Hexacronons, Metacronons, and Autocronons — combined with the symbolic value token Hexa (ɧ), a validation mechanism (Proof-of-Recurrence), and a declarative semantic language (XSL). Together, these components provide an internal temporal architecture enabling AGI to track significance, detect recurrence, integrate patterns, update internal state, and record human–AI co-generated insights over time.
The XChronos Framework does not describe a theory of mind or neuroscience metaphor. It is a structural engineering protocol designed to supply continuity, memory, and temporal coherence to artificial cognitive systems.
