Micro-Id-Gym: Identity Management Workouts with Container-Based Microservices

Identity Management (IdM) solutions are essential for establishing trust in modern digital ecosystems, yet both their secure deployment and correct usage remain challenging. To support security awareness, hands-on learning, and practical experimentation, we introduce Micro-Id-Gym, a container-based training environment for Identity Management protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML 2.0.

Micro-Id-Gym allows users to explore how IdM solutions work, reproduce common security issues, and better understand authentication and authorization vulnerabilities in a controlled environment. By providing configurable microservices, realistic protocol flows, and reproducible scenarios, Micro-Id-Gym enables researchers, students, and practitioners to strengthen their knowledge of IdM security and to experiment safely with protocol-level behaviors and potential misconfigurations.
