Blockchain na Saúde Pública: Uma Revisão de Literatura sobre o uso da Tecnologia em Prontuários Eletrônicos

Description

Blockchain is an alternative for addressing existing challenges in electronic health record (EHR) management, particularly regarding data security, interoperability, transparency, and patient control. This study conducts a qualitative, exploratory literature review to identify how blockchain has been applied to electronic medical records and to examine the contributions, limitations, and opportunities reported in the scientific literature. The findings indicate significant progress in blockchain-based EHR innovations but emphasize unresolved technical and organizational barriers. Identified gaps suggest a focus on scalable, cost-effective architectures that meet healthcare systems’ regulatory, operational, and privacy requirements while leveraging blockchain’s core strengths.
