Education is important for everyone irrespective of gender, socio-economic status, or caste differences. It is not just a matter of self -dependency or self -respect but it empowers each individual for more. Education empowers women just as men to come forward and contribute towards the development and prosperity of the country. Holistic empowerment and independence can be achieved only through proper education and employment of women. The state of Kerala in India is known for its high literacy rates. But contradictorily, the percentage of female employment in Kerala is amongst the lowest in the nation and in Kerala, unemployment among women is highest in Malappuram district in contrast to the other districts (Arun, 2017). This paper is an attempt to find out the causes behind the educated unemployment especially from professionally qualified unemployed women of Malappuram district. Analytic induction technique was used to analyse causes and solutions among qualified unemployed women using open-ended questionnaire. Results of the data disclosed the causes and solutions of educated unemployment among professionally qualified women from their perspectives.
