Description

European Bioplastics has organised the first online workshop in the framework of the BIO4COAT project. The workshop on 18 November 2025 explored how the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework is being applied in the development of circular, sustainable and biobased coatings. With contributions from leading EU-funded projects, such as BIO4COAT, TORNADO, IRISS and BIO-SUSHY, this webinar shares tools, methodologies, and case studies from across the innovation ecosystem.

Aim of the event

  • Exchange practical insights and experiences on implementing SSbD principles in the design and development of circular, sustainable, and biobased coatings, while showcasing EU projects' outputs.
  • Facilitating dialogue across the SSbD innovation landscape.
  • Gather interest in the setup of a Cluster of projects and initiatives working on circular, sustainable and biobased coatings. The cluster is established and facilitated by European Bioplastics. A memorandum of understanding is the basis for the Cluster's operations.

For whom?

Industry and research representatives working on biobased coatings and interested in learning more about the application of the safe-and-sustainable-by-design framework to coatings.
