Screening Chaos: Impact Assessment of the Chaos Function χ and Its Link to the Non-Repeating Past Paradigm (PNP)
Authors/Creators
Description
Status and scope
This document is an ad hoc exploratory note (v0.1), not a finished theory. It collects loosely structured reflections written around the Implosive Edge Hypothesis (IEH) and the Non-Repeating Past Paradigm (PNP) and attempts to push them into a more operational direction. The text should be read as a working paper / concept note rather than as a formal, closed framework.
Core ideas
The central idea is screening chaos: a two-step procedure in which (i) the event space ℰ of a given model is expanded as far as possible to include all scenarios with P>0, and (ii) chaos χ is defined as the residual complement Ω∖E, i.e. the class of events the model does not even name. χ is then treated by analogy with environmental impact assessment (EIA): not as metaphysical “pure chance”, but as an impact source whose consequences for a system (robustness, vulnerability, breakdown) can be qualitatively assessed.
A second key motif is that of return strings: marker-based guidance structures laid down along a trajectory through state-space (or spacetime) during the “forward” evolution. These markers (“return buoys”) later constrain and bias admissible return paths under PNP. The aim is not to restore an identical past - which PNP treats as impossible - but to select trajectories that minimally deform the original microstructure, turning χ from a purely conceptual residual into a design parameter in trajectory selection, correction and return.
Overall, the note sits between cosmology, risk/uncertainty theory and speculative time-structure. It is explicitly methodological-open and should be treated as an invitation for further work, not as a definitive account.
