What's Changed

  1. MainInputFile.xlsx received the following updates:
  • Consumption data for clothing and footwear was updated for NL and EU
  • Specific methods of drying are included: outdoor, indoor clothing lines, Vented tumble dryer, condenser heater pump tumble dryer and condenser heat element tumble dryer
  • Washing by hand or machine and (potential) use of external washing machine filters
  • Three regimes of washing (frequent, rarely and not washed)
  • Refinement of separate textile waste collection with updated data on recycling and reuse (FFact, 2024).
  • Update of efficiency of wastewater treatment processes for the Netherlands (Bertelkamp et al., 2025b) and the EU (Iyare et al., 2020).
  1. The model code received the following updates:
  • The model can now be used to calculate the flows for all input compartments at the same time per polymer. Specific flows can be calculated after running the model. For more information please see the README.
  • It is now possible to run the model for different scenarios (maininputfiles) in parallel if you have access to high performance computing, using the code in DPMFA_NL_EU_measures. Please follow this README.
  • Code written to create tables and figures for RIVM report 152-2025 is included in R/CaseStudies/report_152_2025.
