Description

Paper 1: Electromagnetic Anomalies at L1 During Interstellar Object Perihelion Passages

Reproducible Analysis Code

This release contains all analysis code, data processing scripts, and statistical tests for:

"Electromagnetic Signatures at L1 During Interstellar Object Perihelion Passages: Solar Activity Dependence and Multi-Metric Convergence"

Pre-registration: https://osf.io/f7khv (DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/F7KHV)

Contents

  • analysis.py - Main statistical analysis (Mann-Whitney U tests, effect sizes, 95% CIs)
  • data_processing.py - ACE L1 data loading and preprocessing
  • requirements.txt - Python dependencies

Reproducibility

All analyses are pre-registered and fully documented. Data is sourced from NASA CDAWEB:

  • ACE SWEPAM L2 solar wind plasma measurements
  • SOHO/LASCO coronagraph imagery
  • NOAA solar active region data

Key Findings

  • 1I/'Oumuamua (Sep 2017, solar decline): Significant L1 plasma anomalies
  • 3I/ATLAS (Oct 2025, solar maximum): Significant L1 plasma anomalies
  • 2I/Borisov (Dec 2019, solar minimum): No anomalies (null control)
  • K1/2023 W1 (Nov 2025, comet fragmentation): Marginal anomalies

Conclusion: Electromagnetic/plasma anomalies are solar-activity-dependent, not intrinsic to interstellar objects.
