Use of Categorical Information in Disease Epidemiology

Description

The study aimed to analyze the variance of categorical information in disease epidemiology. The data was collected from federal medical center Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State and analyzed using Minitab V.20. The results showed that there is an association between categorical information and disease prevalence. This study has implications for future research in understanding the epidemiology of diseases and developing effective prevention strategies. Overall, the findings highlight the importance of considering categorical information in disease epidemiology studies. The results based on quarterly data both manually and package (Minitab) shows the test statistics to be 510.663 which is highly above the table value of (X2 11, 0.05) 41.4. bases on this the null (Ho) was rejected and also results based on gender both manually and package shows the test  statistics to be 119.648 and highly above the table value of (X2 11, 0.05) 41.4. Based on this the null (Ho) was rejected and also the  analysis results of (Chi Square)  X2 both manually and software  package (Minitab) shows there is accuracy in the use of the software package  (Minitab). And also shows that the use of categorical data cannot  be under estimate.
