Abstract
The rapid digitization of information and the obsolescence of technology pose significant challenges to long-term access and preservation of digital content in libraries. Digital preservation ensures that digital resources remain accessible, usable, and authentic over time. This paper explores the state-of-the-art techniques and tools used in digital preservation within the context of academic and public libraries globally. It highlights both the technological and policy frameworks involved, assesses the role of standards, and examines case studies from leading digital preservation initiatives. The study concludes with best practices and recommendations for libraries aiming to adopt or improve digital preservation strategies.
