Abstract
This study examines the design, deployment and impact of real-time big data analytics within Nashik Smart City (Maharashtra). It evaluates the technical architecture (IoT sensors, city fiber backbone, CCTV/C2 centers, management information systems and dashboards), data governance, analytic techniques (stream processing, predictive models) and the effect of real-time analytics on urban services — traffic, water, waste, public safety and event management. Using a mixed-methods approach (document analysis, stakeholder interviews, pilot data analysis and simulation), the paper identifies benefits, limitations and policy recommendations to scale a resilient real-time analytics platform for Nashik. The study concludes that properly governed, interoperable real-time analytics can significantly improve situational awareness and service delivery, but success requires investment in data quality, privacy safeguards and institutional capacity.
