SEK – Somatic Emergency Kit: Structured Self-Regulation in Acute Situations
Authors/Creators
Description
The Somatic Emergency Kit (SEK) provides a structured, non-invasive protocol for immediate self-regulation in acute stress or dissociative episodes. It integrates cold stimulation (with protective sleeve), controlled 4-2-6 breathing, and glucose-based micro-reward activation to support parasympathetic re-engagement and re-orientation. The whitepaper defines procedural boundaries, ethical limitations, and optional supervised use within clinical or DBT contexts, without replacing therapy. As part of the Hybrid Evolution Series, it links physiological regulation with epistemic stability and establishes the SEK as an accessible, testable framework for somatic self-regulation.
