Breast Cancer Trends and Insights from Gujranwala Medical College: A Retrospective Analysis of 2023-2024 Data

Purpose: Breast cancer is one of the quickly expanding malignant growths among ladies and a huge reason for disease related grimness and mortality around the world. So, this study was conducted to know the burden and incidence of Breast Cancer in our area
Patients and method: A retrospective study was done in Gujranwala Medical College(GMC) Teaching Hospital Gujranwala duration of study was October 2023 to December 2024.All the patients presented during that period were included in the study.Male Patients with breast Pathology were not included in the study.Incidence of Malignancy and demographic analysis was studied in these patients
Results: A total of 1650 female patients visited breast clinic with age ranges from 15 years to 70 years average is 40.6 years. Breast cancer was diagnosed in 266 patients (16.12%) with majority 214 patient (80.4%) have invasive ductal carcinoma histopathology.Patients of 15-30 years have
19 cases (7.14%), 31-40 years 71 cases  (26.69%) , 41-50 years 96 cases  (36.29%) , 51-60 years 46 cases  (17.29%) and 61-70 years 34 cases  (12.78%) of Breast cancer. 13 Patients (4.88%) have fun gating mass on presentation.Among 266 only 10 patients (3.75%) have family history positive in their 1st degree relative. 230 patients (86.47%) breast feed their child
Conclusion: This retrospective analysis of breast clinic data from Gujranwala Medical College provides valuable insights into breast cancer trends and management in our region
