Comet 67P Sediment Transport Pathways - Initial Release

This release contains Python code and data for analyzing sediment redistribution on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko through ballistic transport simulations.

Contents

Python Scripts:

  • create_hop_stats.py - Multi-hop sediment redistribution simulation
  • convert_hop_stats_to_vtk.py - Convert particle distributions to VTK format
  • generate_spatial_index.py - Generate spatial index for interactive visualization
  • trajectory_source_visualizer.py - Interactive reverse trajectory analysis tool

Data Files:

  • Shape model (OBJ format, 440,596 facets)
  • Ejection probability maps (TXT and VTK formats)
  • Documentation and README files

⚠️ Note: The pre-computed transport dictionaries (~5 GB) are too large for GitHub and are available separately on Zenodo:
