Dataset of the Network Meta-Analysis on Restorative and Adhesive Strategies for Cervical Carious Lesions
Description
This dataset compiles all the quantitative and qualitative data used in the systematic review, pairwise, and network meta-analysis titled “Restorative and Adhesive Strategies for Cervical Carious Lesions: A Systematic Review, Pairwise and Network Meta-Analysis.” It integrates evidence from randomized clinical trials assessing the performance of adhesive and restorative materials in non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs), structured for reproducibility in R (version 4.4.0) using the netmeta and MetaInsight frameworks.
The dataset includes study-level descriptors (author, year, number of restorations, failures, and follow-up duration), intervention arms categorized by adhesive strategy (etch-and-rinse, self-etch, selective-etch) and restorative material type (glass ionomer cement, resin-modified glass ionomer, microhybrid, nanohybrid, nanofilled, bulk-fill, flowable, high-strength, dual-cure, antibacterial, or bioactive composites). It also provides the complete RoB 2 assessments, network geometry, and CINeMA evaluations covering within-study bias, reporting bias, indirectness, imprecision, heterogeneity, and incoherence.
The file df(3).xlsx contains the core dataset for the network meta-analysis, while df(3) - MetaInsight.xlsx corresponds to the version adapted for the MetaInsight Shiny application. The file rob2.xlsx includes the complete risk-of-bias evaluation for all included RCTs. The file cinema.csv contains the master CINeMA export used for confidence assessment across network comparisons. Additional files (cinema_fixed_RR_leaguetable.csv, cinema_fixed_RR_leaguetableLowBias.csv, and cinema_fixed_RR_leaguetableLowMediumBias.csv) present the network league tables for all studies, low-risk-only studies, and low-plus-some-concerns subsets, respectively. The files cinema_fixed_RR_perComparisonContribution.csv and cinema_fixed_RR_perStudyContribution.csv provide matrices quantifying the contribution of each comparison and study to the overall network estimates.
All analyses were conducted according to PRISMA 2020, the Cochrane Handbook (version 6.3), and CINeMA methodological standards. The dataset is organized to ensure transparency and reusability, enabling replication of network meta-analyses and further investigation into adhesive strategies, restoration longevity, and clinical performance in restorative dentistry.
