Description

This hands-on tutorial demonstrates the main capabilities of TOPCAT in a real science case. Across the tutorial, it is explored the use of catalogues, cross-match tables, filtering, subsets, and graphics. A reliable estimate of the distance to Pleiades open cluster is determined. In this version, a tutorial in Jupyter notebook is also provided.
