ABSTRACT

The Online Resource Exchange System, ORES, is an online platform developed to facilitate easier sharing and exchange of educational materials between students and lecturers within an institution. Most of the useful resources - like textbooks, class notes, and stationery - are usually left unused once the course is completed. ORES fills this gap by offering an easy, credible, and sustainable platform through which users can lend, borrow, or swap such materials rather than having them idle or buying duplicates. Users can register safely, post available resources, and view items contributed by other users. Every resource has concise details like its title, category, condition, and status of availability. A messaging system integrated within allows users to communicate directly, and notifications inform everyone of requests and transactions. The administrator control panel offers means of handling users, tracking activity, and ensuring the quality and integrity of shared resources. ORES is coded with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to provide a seamless user experience and simple deployment over institutional networks. The system's module-based design allows features like resource management, request booking, and feedback; it can be extended further with features such as search filters or integration with mobile apps. By putting learning materials into a form where they can be reused, ORES saves costs and time while fostering a collaborative and sustainable culture in learning. It redefines the manner in which academic resources are exchanged and helps institutions move toward becoming smarter and more integrated learning environments.
