Comments.

Parophonus hirsutulus has a Turano-Mediterranean distribution (Kataev and Wrase 2017). In Greece, the species has been reported from the Greek mainland and Peloponnese (Apfelbeck 1904; Arndt et al. 2011). This is the first record of P. hirsutulus from Crete. The species appears to be restricted in central Crete.
