Metasonology: A Foundational Framework for the Philosophy and Phenomenology of Sound in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

  • 1. Dar Al-Kalima University, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Bethlehem, Palestine

Description

Description:

This document presents the foundational framework of Metasonology, a new scientific and philosophical discipline established by Prof. Dr. Mutasem Adileh at Dar Al-Kalima University in 2025. Metasonology investigates sound as a multi-layered phenomenon that bridges human experience and digital media in the context of artificial intelligence.

The study offers a comprehensive theoretical and methodological approach, integrating phenomenology, ontology, anthropology, and digital sciences, to analyze both human-generated and algorithmically processed sounds. It addresses the profound transformation of human auditory perception in the digital age, emphasizing the interaction between consciousness, memory, identity, and cultural meaning.

This work also lays the groundwork for Post-Metasonology, which will explore non-human and algorithmically generated auditory perception.

Keywords: Metasonology, Sound Studies, Phenomenology, Sonic Ontology, Digital Humanities, Artificial Intelligence, Auditory Consciousness.
