Description

The main goal of the WP4 is to develop a comprehensive suite of tools for metagenomic, genetic, and stable isotope approaches to determine and ensure the quality, safety, and traceability of seafood products within the supply chain, which is essential to improve decision-making at various levels in the fish industry, and at the same time, increase consumer confidence in seafood. Traceability of seafood involves tracking both the geographical origin of seafood products and their production method (wild-caught or farmed), also to prevent fraud and guarantee the quality of fish products. In this report, contributions to Deliverable 4.3 (Validated instructions, Standard Operating procedures, and protocols for use in the supply chain) that comprehend the comparison of different technologies that will allow the cost-benefits of these platforms at different levels of decision-making in the fish industry to be assessed.

In this report, different technologies, including sensors for product freshness, microbiological traceability tools, and genetic markers, are going to be discussed. Some of the results here provided have been reported in D4.2 since they are unavoidable to report cost-benefits and discuss synergies between methods provided.
