Estrategia combinada de la técnica Luksenburg Systems y terapias regenerativas en el abordaje de la incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo femenina
Description
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is one of the most prevalent pelvic floor dysfunctions affecting women worldwide and has a significant impact on quality of life. The Luksenburg Systems technique offers an alternative therapeutic approach aimed at restoring pelvic floor function. This study assessed the clinical durability of the Luksenburg Systems technique combined with regenerative therapies in the management of female SUI through a retrospective longitudinal descriptive design involving 40 patients who attended FUNDAREN (Caracas, Venezuela) and met the inclusion criteria. Following informed consent, a standardized protocol was implemented before and after the Luksenburg procedure, which included at least two sessions of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), electromagnetic stimulation chair therapy, laser treatment, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). The mean age was 51,93 ± 10,63 years, with 40% reporting urinary incontinence lasting between 6 and 9 years. The predominant clinical diagnosis was moderate SUI (MSUI) associated with grade II cystocele. Grade III patients with prior pelvic surgeries and no recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) received at least one regenerative therapy; 62,5% presented with active MSUI. Among patients treated between 2022 and 2024 with the Luksenburg technique combined with regenerative therapy, statistically significant improvement was observed only in the PRP subgroup (p<0,05). Additionally, urinary continence increased, showing prolonged durability and a low recurrence rate (p<0,05). The combined strategy was concluded to be safe, offering long-lasting results, improvement in pelvic floor function and high levels of patient satisfaction. Its benefits appear to surpass those achieved with isolated therapies
