Description

This monograph is dedicated to one of the most famous monuments of late Scythian culture in Crimea—the Ust-Alma settlement and necropolis. At the mouth of the Alma River, the Scythian city of Palakiy, which was closely linked by trade with the centers of the Northern Black Sea region, stood in ancient times. The book describes the building remains and economic activities of the population that lived here from the end of the 1st century BC to the mid-3rd century AD. The city included a large burial ground. The burial structures, rituals, burial goods, and the ethnic and cultural ties of the local residents are examined.
