Unleashing the Power of Digital Transformation: How AI Shapes the Future of Knowledge Management in Libraries
Authors/Creators
Description
This paper will explore the integration of KM and AI in Library and Information Centers as the driving force behind digital transformation, while the essence of modern library services lies in user-centric and inclusive information access. This study, with a qualitative approach, analyzed existing literature, case studies, and emerging technologies and explained the need for KM frameworks and AI technologies to enhance library operations, improve user experiences, and promote equitable information access. The findings of the study reveal that KM is the backbone of an institution for organizing and sharing knowledge, while AI enables automation, personalized services, and advanced resource discovery. The paper also articulates the challenges associated with the integration of the KM framework and AI technologies, including ethical concerns, skill gaps, and infrastructure needs. Giving a review of the current scenario, the study provides a hybrid approach with a balancing of traditional services and innovations driven by AI. According to the paper, strategic investments in AI, workforce development, and ethical governance are essential for sustainable growth and inclusivity in the digital age.
