Plate 8.7 Vulnerability of Groundwater Ressources
Description
The term «vulnerability» refers to the sensitivity of a system in relation to a harmful external influence. In the case of groundwater, vulnerability is defined as the exposure to pollution through the influx of harmful substances into the aquifer.
This plate shows the vulnerability of groundwater resources to potential pollutants throughout Switzerland.
Abstract (German)
Der Begriff der Vulnerabilität beschreibt die Empfindlichkeit eines Systems hinsichtlich einer externen Beeinträchtigung. Übertragen auf das Grundwasser definiert Vulnerabilität die Gefährdung eines Grundwasservorkommens durch den Eintrag von Schadstoffen in den Untergrund.
In der vorliegenden Tafel wird die Empfindlichkeit der Grundwasservorkommen bezüglich möglicher Gefährdungen durch Schadstoffe in einem gesamtschweizerischen Kontext dargestellt.

Le terme de vulnérabilité est utilisé pour décrire la sensibilité d’un système à l’égard d’une atteinte venant de l’extérieur. Appliqué à l’eau souterraine, ce terme définit la menace que représente, pour un réservoir aquifère, la pénétration de polluants dans le sous-sol.
La présente planche a pour but de représenter la sensibilité des réservoirs aquifères au point de vue des menaces possibles par des polluants, à l’échelle du territoire national.
Abstract (Italian)
Il concetto di vulnerabilità è inteso a descrivere la sensibilità di un sistema nei confronti di un’aggressione esterna. Nel caso delle acque sotterranee la vulnerabilità è riferita al rischio connesso con l’introduzione d’inquinanti nel sottosuolo.
La presente tavola rappresenta nel contesto nazionale l’esposizione delle falde idriche alle possibili minacce causate dagli agenti inquinanti.
