Description
BPD VR Stress Application (GAUK Build v2.05) – executable virtual reality application developed at the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ), Czech Republic.
The software presents validated psychosocial stress-inducing scenarios in VR, designed to examine emotional responses in individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). This build represents the validated research version used in the study.
The project is currently maintained with the possibility of future extensions under new research grants.
This repository includes the Windows build (BPD_VRStress_v2.05.zip) and accompanying documentation (README.txt).
The build contains the Bank/Waiting Room and Train scenarios (both negative and neutral), which were used in the validation study. Other scenes (e.g., Restaurant, Cinema) are functional but were not included in the published experiment.
No participant data or identifying information are included. The application is intended solely for research and demonstration purposes and requires a VR headset (e.g., HTC Vive).
All configuration files define only scenario timing and parameters. They may be modified to adjust the experimental flow, but this is not required for standard use.
The build accompanying this repository was used in the study currently under review:
Francová, A., et al. (2025). Validation of Psychosocial Stress-Inducing Scenarios in Virtual Reality in Borderline Personality Disorder. PLOS ONE (under review).
This work was primarily supported by the Grant Agency of Charles University (grant no. 1454120).
