Developing A System of Sentence Exercises for Grade 5 Students Within A Competency Based Approach

This paper presents the research findings on developing a system of sentence exercises for Grade 5 students within a competency-based approach. The system consists of four groups of exercises: (1) exercises for practicing sentence recognition; (2) exercises for practicing sentence transformation; (3) exercises for practicing sentence construction; and (4) exercises for practicing sentence cohesion. Through this system, the study contributes to fostering linguistic competence amongst primary school students and improving the quality of Vietnamese language teaching in Grade 5.
