HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEMOIR GENRE

This article analyzes the stages of formation, development, and historical development of the memoir genre in literature. First of all, starting from the first examples of memoirs, their form and content aspects are highlighted, and it is shown how the specific features of this genre changed under the influence of social and cultural factors in different periods. In particular, on the example of examples of Eastern and Western literature, the functional possibilities of the memoir genre, its artistic and aesthetic requirements, and the role of the writer's personality are analyzed as an important factor. In the course of the research, it is substantiated that this genre is based on the combination of historicity, fact, and personal experiences, its place and significance in the development of literary thought. The article is rich in scientific conclusions about the specific artistic criteria of the memoir genre, its enrichment in terms of form, and its place in modern literature.
