Description
This article explores the complex history of political, military, and economic conflicts among the khanates of Central Asia between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. Following the fragmentation of the Timurid Empire, new regional powers such as the Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand khanates emerged, competing for territory, resources, and control over trade routes. The study analyzes the underlying causes of these wars — territorial ambition, economic rivalry, tribal divisions, and external intervention by Persian, Afghan, and Russian forces. Drawing on historical sources, the paper traces the evolution of inter-khanate warfare, examining key battles, alliances, and diplomatic maneuvers that shaped the region’s political map.
