Description
The Research Data Netherlands (RDNL) consortium (DANS, SURF, Health-RI and 4TU.ResearchData) has received funding from Open Science NL (Dutch Research Council) to develop a national training and community platform to further professionalise research data stewardship in The Netherlands. This platform will include a national curriculum, training offerings, and a website to help you find relevant learning and community resources. But for the project to succeed, it must reflect the real-world needs of data professionals, and thus community feedback is a crucial part of this project as well.
Therefore, in this session, we aimed to get input from research data professionals on the foundation of this project: the data steward core curriculum. The curriculum describes the data stewards’ profiles, their skills, learning objectives and relevant topics and will be in line with the Dutch university professional profile (UFO) for data stewards. In the session, we gathered input on training needs from data professionals and asked them to help us prioritise them. This will help the project to develop relevant trainings or find most fitting training providers to collaborate with in order to create this curriculum.
