Sc-Rubs: Unified Description of How Form Holds Together
Description
The Sc-Rubs model provides a unified scalar-field formulation describing how geometric form maintains persistence through a balance of diffusion, curvature, and threshold dynamics. The field exhibits a sub-threshold damping region (0 ≤ φ < α ≈ 0.3) and a stable persistence zone (α < φ ≤ 1) whose effective energy corresponds to the RMS magnitude of the active field. This balance between Laplacian smoothing (“snubber”) and rectifier reinforcement yields self-maintaining structures such as sphere-, cube-, and hybrid polyhedral morphologies—demonstrating a unified description of how form holds together.
