Authors/Creators
Description
This release updates the repository to match the revised manuscript submitted to PLOS Climate (PCLM-D-25-00404). Changes from v1.0.1:
Data scope expanded: Analysis now covers January–December 2024 (8,408 records, 8,403 valid) instead of January–October Method corrected: Anomaly detection uses a global-baseline z-score (mean and standard deviation computed across the full dataset) instead of the previously described rolling 30-day window Sensitivity analysis added: Notebook now evaluates thresholds of |z| > 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 Filename corrected: Notebook reads noaa_984290_2024.txt (matching the data directory) Figures added: Fig_1.ipynb (temperature time series with anomalies) and Fig_2.ipynb (three-layer architecture diagram) anomalies.csv regenerated: 33 anomalies, all in April–May 2024 (36.9–38.0°C) README updated: Reflects all changes above
Results are unchanged: 33 anomalies detected at |z| > 3.0, exclusively in April (n=21) and May (n=12) 2024.
