Data Literacy in Daily Life - Critical Approach to Graphs and Diagrams

On 7 September 2025, the "Tag der Neugier", Forschungszentrum Jülich opened its doors to all interested visitors. Visitors could experience cutting-edge research up close and take an exclusive look behind the scenes of one of Europe’s largest research centres, which is not usually open to the public. During this event, the Rhine-Ruhr Center for Scientific Data Literacy (DKZ.2R) presented 3 posters that showcase the importance of data literacy in daily life and give some guidelines to deal with, e.g. misleading graphs and diagrams in media, scientific studies related to comsumer products, or pricing and packaging in supermarkets.
