Jadid movement emerged in Turkestan in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a socio-political, cultural, and educational reform movement aimed at awakening national consciousness and promoting modern knowledge among the people. This article explores the historical roots, goals, and achievements of the Jadid movement, highlighting the activities of its prominent representatives such as Mahmudkhoja Behbudiy, Abdurauf Fitrat, Munavvarqori Abdurashidkhonov, and Abdulla Avloniy. Drawing on historical and literary sources, the paper examines the movement’s contributions to education, culture, and national awakening. The Jadid ideology laid the foundation for modern Uzbek identity and inspired the ideas of independence and enlightenment.
