Short-term monocular deprivation in healthy humans: a meta-analysis and new perspectives

Description

The short-term monocular deprivation meta-analysis data file (.xlsx) contains the following information.

For each row (representing one dataset, extracted from one of the publications):

  • Paper: Year and first author of each paper included in the meta-analysis. Repetitions indicate that multiple datasets from the same paper were evaluated for inclusion.
  • Biblio index: The numerical reference identifier corresponding to the reference list in the main text.
  • Manipulation type: The type of monocular manipulation applied.
  • Technique type: The method used to measure ocular dominance (behavioral, electrophysiological, or imaging).
  • Deprivation duration: Duration of monocular deprivation, expressed in minutes.
  • Inclusion in Figures 1, 2A, 2B, or 3: Indicates whether the dataset was included in the corresponding figures of the main text.
  • Source values: Values as reported in the original paper from which we computed our index of ocular dominance used for the main analysis (effect size).
  • Source data: Whether the source values were reported in the original paperr as individual subjects' data, as means and standard errors or as t-statistics.
  • Source values for decay-rate analysis: alues as reported in the original paper from which we computed our index of ocular dominance used for the decay rate analysis.
  • Reasons for exclusion: Reasons for excluding some datasets from all our analyses (Figures 1 through 3).
